Define descriptions and categories to associate with those URL’s and so enable meaningful analysis e.g. what is the performance of URL’s place in Twitter vs. those in Facebook? Which URL’s generated most traffic? Measure the performance of any URL used for on-line marketing e.g. Extend email communication tracking, measure those embedded URL’s within Google Analytics too! How it works Shorten a URL for use in Twitter or any other Social Media activity - enter the URL, your Google Analytics tracking code and optional fields: Category, Action and Label. These options are used for tracking events in Google Analytics. Use your shortened URL in your Tweets and when your Followers click the referal link, a page view will be automatically recorded in Google Analytics. If you'd like to understand the results in more detail, enter the additional fields (Category, Action and Label) you can then analyse Events within Google Analytics.
